Terms and Conditions

Welcome to CakedbyMkay. Please review these terms in full as they represent the formal agreement between CakedbyMkay and the customer. By making a payment, you are providing a signature and agreement to all terms listed below.

1. Retainer & Payments

• Retainer: A 50% non-refundable retainer is due within 48 hours of the invoice being sent to secure your order date.

• Booking: Orders are not confirmed or added to the calendar until the retainer is paid. Failure to pay within 48 hours will result in cancellation.

• Final Payment: Final payment is due no later than 1 week before pickup/delivery for standard orders, and 2 weeks before for all wedding orders.

2. Cancellations, Postponements, & Refunds

• Refund Policy: In no event shall CakedbyMkay be required to refund any payment.

• Cancellations: If notified less than 2 weeks in advance, your payment will be honored as a dessert credit valid for 1 year from the original invoice date.

• Rescheduling: Subject to CakedbyMkay’s availability and calendar.

3. Bridal & Wedding Experience

• Inclusions: The bridal experience includes two (2) complimentary cake tasting boxes and a cake knife for your event.

• Equipment: CakedbyMkay does not provide cake tables or cake stands. It is the client's responsibility to ensure these are provided at the venue.

• Final Payment: As noted, all wedding balances must be cleared 2 weeks prior to the event date.

4. Delivery, Liability, & Care

• Post-Delivery Liability: CakedbyMkay is not liable for any damage once the order has been picked up or delivered.

• Refrigeration Policy: Once the cake is delivered and placed in a refrigerator, CakedbyMkay is no longer responsible for any issues, structural changes, or damages that occur to the cake.

• Environment: Clients must provide a level surface and suitable environment. We strongly advise against placing desserts outdoors or in direct sunlight.

• Transportation: For pickups, desserts must be placed on a flat surface (car floor or trunk), never on a seat.

5. Servings & Decor

• Servings: Serving sizes are based on research; CakedbyMkay is not responsible for serving shortages.

• Inedible Decor: Silk florals, support dowels, and highlight dust (for drip/splatters) are not edible and must be removed before consumption.

• Allergens: Products may contain or come in contact with milk, wheat, nuts, and soy. Please notify your guests of these risks.

6. Changes

• Please review all invoice details (flavors, design, date) prior to payment.

• Any changes must be submitted prior to final payment. If no changes are requested, we will fulfill the order exactly as stated on the invoice.
